The University of Georgia Department of Theatre and Film Studies and the Institute for African American Studies seek an assistant professor in a joint tenure-track position to begin fall 2015. The candidate’s scholarly research should focus on African American theatre, performance art, and/or film. Additional qualifications must include the ability to teach survey courses in theatre history at the undergraduate and graduate level, supervise doctoral dissertations, and direct productions as part of the University Theatre season. This is an interdisciplinary position that brings with it activities such as service outreach with student organizations and deepening ties with the community.
Candidates must have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree, or have completed all the requirements for this degree by August 10, 2015, and have teaching experience at the university level.
