Understanding M4BL and Black Liberation
The Movement for Black Lives (M4BL) itself is a formidable force. It’s a coalition uniting more than 50 Black-led organizations across the United States, all working to represent the diverse interests of Black communities (Movement for Black Lives – Wikipedia). Its mission is clear and urgent: to fight for racial, economic, and gender justice. Central to this is “A Vision for Black Lives,” a comprehensive policy agenda aiming for true Black power, freedom, and justice.
Within this framework, Black liberation is understood as an ongoing struggle for the freedom, self-determination, and equity of all Black people. It aims to dismantle systemic racism and every form of oppression that uniquely harms our communities.
