On Tuesday, August 10, two Wu-Tang Clan-affiliated hip-hop group members were reportedly shot and murdered in Portland, Oregon. Relatives revealed that the two victims were Odion Turner, 42, popularly known as 12 O’Clock, and David Turner, 45, known as Murdock, of the Brooklyn Zu and Portland police confirmed that the two were cousins, reported Oregon Live.
The incident happened in Portland’s northeastern neighborhood around 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday, as reported by the news site.
The police reported that four people were injured, including one individual who’s still in the hospital with life-threatening wounds.
On Tuesday, Young Dirty Bastard, the son of the late Wu-Tang icon Ol’ Dirty Bastard, posted on Instagram regarding his cousins.
“Rip 12 O’Clock. Rip Murdock. They Were My Fathers Tightest Blood bonds. My Two Older cousins Were just assassinated. Love Y’all. Blood Forever. Brooklyn Zu,” he said in his Instagram Story.
In a video uploaded on Instagram from an aircraft, Divine Turner said his father, 12 O’Clock, had been slain.
“So I’m out of town away from home on business, and I get the call that they murdered my father,” Divine said. “I don’t know what to do.”
A commentary on the clip stated, “It’s a sad day for me…They assassinated my father in #Oregon.”
Odion Turner’s wife of more than 20 years, Princhesca Rainier Turner, who resides in Florida, claimed that her husband was in Portland, where he has several family members. Their oldest daughter had a baby on the same day he was shot and murdered, she claimed.
“August 10, 2021, How could one day bring so much joy and so much pain?” She wrote on a social media platform. “My heart doesn’t know how to separate being empty and full at the same time.”
Authorities claim that the cousins’ killings were the 57th and 58th homicides in Portland this year. Eight months into the year, the number of homicides in Portland has exceeded the total number recorded in 2020.
The details of the incident have been kept under wraps by police. But, according to Oregon Live, surveillance footage shows over 20 gunshots ringing out on the roadway, followed by a vehicle racing away.
