As Twitchy reported earlier, Black Lives Matter protesters descended on Carmine’s Italian restaurant on New York City’s Upper West Side in response to allegations of racial profiling from three Texas tourists who were arrested for allegedly assaulting a hostess over a disagreement over the city’s vaccine mandate.

Caroline Downy writes in National Review that Black Lives Matter NYC has promised further protests as they say the city’s vaccine passport has a disparate effect on blacks:

Wow, what a story by @carolinedowney_ . Black Lives Matter promises more chaos because they say vaccine mandates in NYC and elsewhere have a disparate impact on black people. https://t.co/fRVBpxTSmy

Who saw this coming? Oh yeah, all of us.

Downey writes:

Chivona Newsome, the other co-founder of BLM NYC, targeted Mayor Bill de Blasio’s vaccine mandate more specifically in her remarks. She implied that the edict has resulted in repeats of historical episodes when blacks were disenfranchised from society.

“Seventy-two percent of black people in this city from ages 18 to 44 are unvaccinated. So what is going to stop the Gestapo, I mean the NYPD, from rounding up black people, from snatching them off the train, off the bus?” she added.

Chivona Newsome suggested that if these incidents continue, Black Lives Matter could revolt to exact justice like it did after George Floyd’s death.

“We’re putting this city on notice, that your mandate will not be another racist social-distance practice. Black people are not going to stand by, or you will see another uprising. And that is not a threat; that is a promise,” she said. “The vaccination passport is not a free passport to racism.”

How is it that politicians who decided to bring back segregation couldn’t foresee this?

It was just a matter of time before this bubbled up.

It’ll be interesting to see when/how the narrative flips under the pressure of these contradictions

— Raven (@spiral_virus) September 21, 2021

If this gains traction, it’ll be interesting to see what the regime’s response is: drop the whole thing, or exemptions for POC.

What are the odds that they carve out race exceptions to vaccine mandates

— you blew it up (@Jeff_Camps) September 21, 2021

We reported in December that students of color were exempt from Cornell’s flu vaccine requirement “based on historical injustices and current events,” so yes, exemptions for people of color already exist in some places.

Really punches a hole in the narrative that only white conservatives are against mandates.

Well, They’re correct on that one.

But, they can reap what they sow, they voted for it.

— Burgerface Mc Circle Back ahhh umm (@Burgerfacemcta1) September 21, 2021

Even the simplest back-of-the-envelope math about the election and vaccinations shows that the majority of unvaccinated adults are not the white Trump supporters the press is focusing on.

They do but not because of ID…they are the largest vaccine hesitant group so these vaccine mandates are definitely having an impact on the black community. Democrats creating more segregation in the guise of mandates.

This should go well

Duh. People have been pointing this out from day 1. pic.twitter.com/zbp3Obj4GL

And unfortunately, they will direct their anger onto stores and restaurants not the people who are actually responsible for the vaccine mandates…our elected officials.

— That’s not me,it’s Murphy’s yearbook pic (@Thelmavrh) September 21, 2021

I support their outrage, but why are they directing their ire at the restaurants? March over to Mayor DeBlasio’s office, pronto!

— Karen Leone (@karenanne99) September 21, 2021

Good thing they are protesting the restaurant instead of the Mayor’s Office. That will begin change.

So why aren’t they protesting at the mayors residence?

— S. RC105 Harp (@SHarp56_) September 21, 2021

Yeah but they’re targeting restaraunts and blaming Republicans instead of confronting the people who are actually enacting these policies.

The vaccine mandates proposed by and enforced by the party they elected into power? That vaccine mandate? Got it….

They voted for this. Now they want to whine and cry about it? Typical of this ilk.

— Remember The Ferrets, RIP (@GooderSarah) September 21, 2021

To be fair it was considered a conspiracy theory that vax mandates and vax passports were coming, you know, during the campaign…

President-elect Biden told us the vaccine would not be mandatory.

The woke left is in for some cognitive dissonance.

Everyone knew this weeks ago and conservatives made this point repeatedly

Lots and lots of people pointed out that this was defacto segregation.

Don’t act surprised now, lefties. You were told.
